Organic + Stylish Tablescape

Today's organic + stylish tablescape shoot from Studio Fleurette and Kristina Lynn Photography just goes to prove that sometimes minimal can be seriously amazing. Billy balls in white vases, white orchids mixed with brown twigs, a light burlap table runner and napkin wraps all highlighted with quartz blue thread, clear glass plates and candlesticks with white candlelight - its understated organic elegance at its finest.
Thank you so much to Danielle Erickson of Studio Fleurette for sharing this!

Pretty Vintage Cakes by Enlightened Patisserie

My friend Nickol Hayden-Cady of Enlightened Patisserie participated in the Bravo! Central Oregon Wedding Affair show this past weekend, and I was so excited to be able to help her with some decor and DIY projects for the show. Working with a vintage antique theme, we made DIY antique book page pinwheels with buttons and tissue paper poms which were hung on vintage doors, old window frames and curtains as curtain ties. Nickol showcased 14 different and seriously amazing cakes that she crafted for the occasion, all with a vintage theme, that were placed on her collection of vintage cake stands and stacked on old books. She also set up an antique dessert table with a meringue cake, macarons, madelines, tiny meringues and rock candy that was so perfect!
Pretty amazing, right?? I am constantly amazed at Nickol's work - her cakes feature ruffles, cameos, flowers, feathers, and pearls and she's not afraid of color or thinking outside the (cake) box, which I love about her!

Neutral Dessert Table with a POP of Color

I've been seeing lots of neutrals and monochromatic white color palettes for winter lately, but this is such a fresh new spin on that - neutrals and whites with a super bright, super bold pop of color like this amazing day-glo orangey pink. I literally stopped dead in my tracks with my mouth hanging open when I saw this fabulous display of paper flowers and paper garlands over on Somewhere Splendid. The concept and design was done by Susana of Simplesmente Branco and Ana of Pinga Amor

From Susana and Ana: "Our concept was to do something a bit rough, instead of creating one those real pretty, neat and organized tables. We played with colors (neon pink, brown craft paper and white) and textures (tissue paper, paper doilies and Braille edition newspaper) to have something really interesting for the eye. We chose sweets from our childhood, including small and traditional biscuits and cakes for a “less is more” approach. Our end result: a clean, conceptual table with a wall gone mad, just for the fun of it!"

Tuesday Shoesday

Could this pair of picutres by Bonnie Tsang be any more lovely? Valentine's Day is right around the corner, so red shoes seemed appropriate for this Tuesday Shoesday.
And these beauties are a steal!
You simply must go see the rest of this pretty wedding over on Love and Lavender

Ethereal Winter Glamour

I have a delightfully adorable wintery photo shoot for you today from a fabulous team of Dallas, Texas vendors: Bows and Arrows, Greg Blomberg Photography, RSVP Events, and Sugar Bee Sweets. The vendors wanted to go for a winter theme with a ethereal, delicate and heavenly feel - lots of feathers, fur and a real live fluffy bunny, who is just too cute + charming!! ('Bunny' happens to be my husband's nickname for me lol). I love the mix of softness, sparkle, crystal and winter touches; the soft white, silver and grey palette, the lush white flowers, and the amazing ruffled cake!

From Alicia of Bows and Arrows: "We wanted to create a gorgeous, glam wintery scene but keep everything in the clouds! We took our inspiration for this fur and diamond shoot from our sophisticated little bunny friend. The miniature lion head rabbit is white, fluffy, soft, and charming. We used layers of white mixed with pops of smokey grays. Piling on tons of different textures and surfaces and introducing the transparent gave our shoot a light, airy, floating effect. The glam comes in by using touches of crystals, rocks, rhinestones, feathers, and glitter in a way that is not too ritzy or overdone...just right! Gorgeous, fluffy, monochromatic white flowers gave a nod to the old school romantic keeping our look timeless. Creating a 6 tier cake with ruffles and diamonds spoke to the decadence of our shoot: it was classic and contemporary and over-the-top!"

Thanks so much to Alicia of Bows and Arrows for sharing this today!!
