Wedding Style: Mad Men Inspired

After eight long months of waiting, the Season 4 premiere of Mad Men was last night. Feeling ultra inspired by the polished look of 1960's world of Don and Betty Draper and Sterling Cooper, I put together a little Mad Men wedding style guide.

Starting off with a style board for the fellows...
Mad for the Men

Cool cars, cocktails, slick suits, grooming and styling accouterments, and a lovely little bride - a groom's Mad Men inspired wedding day essentials. And of course, he'll need his groomsmen nearby...

And on to the ladies...
Outfit your maids in retro inspired frocks a la Joan, Betty and Peggy... Or steal the look for yourself for an e-session, shower, rehearsal dinner or going away dress.

Loving This: Rainbow Maids

Loved the bright colored dress trend on the red carpet at the SAG awards last night. Why not take a cue from the celebrity playbook and have your maids dress in different colored jewel-toned gowns that they can wear again?

Bride Style: Oleg Cassini dresses

When I saw these two new dresses from Oleg Cassini for David's Bridal, let's just say I wish I had a time machine or some other good excuse to buy both of these wedding dresses. And I cannot believe they are both under $900! Oleg Cassini was the personal designer to First Lady Jackie Kennedy, and we have him to thank for creating her distinctive "Jackie look" and style. He has since passed away, but his line for David's Bridal continues with timeless glamour and elegance. The fabrics and detailing used in his line really are luxe and an amazing steal for the price. Here are my two favorites from the new Oleg Cassini 2010 collection...

First off, this amazing tulle ballgown number with fabric flower and beaded applique... It looks like it costs about 10 times more than it actually does!

And then this fabulous high-low hem dress which I love - you get the both of best worlds of a short dress and a longer gown and get to show off the shoes!
Oh and the price? At $550, it's even more fabulous.

Bridesmaid Style: Carol Hannah

I came across this dress designed by Project Runway contestant Carol Hannah as part of her Wedding Collection shop on Etsy and instantly wished I could wear this as a bridesmaid (okay, or just wear it somewhere). Pretty please some friend of mine? I don't mind splurging on this bit of gorgeousness.

Adorable Find: Little White Dresser

Sorry for the late post...I was having a pretty down day, but finding out about the Little White Dresser shop on Etsy was a bright spot. Seriously some of the cutest accessories for the bride and bridesmaids - or for just plain old lovers of cute accessories. Here's a few of my favorites!

I love this! Wear it as headband, or, wear it as a sash! Or wear it as both, one for ceremony, one for reception.

Bride Style: White Shoes

So colored shoes for brides have been all the rage - and rightly so - but I am declaring that white shoes may be making a comeback. A classic never dies. Look at these beauties and you may be convinced. Still need a good reason to love these adorable white shoes? How about the $34 price tag? :)
