Blog Around the World: Elegant Decay #21

Today a group of Twitter gals who affectionately call each other #TWIPS (which stands for Twitter Wedding Inspirational Pals) are having a fun little "Blog Around the World" scavenger hunt, where we're revealing an entire posts' worth of pretty pictures one at a time, blog by blog. Cause we're fun like that. The idea started with Aleah Valley of Valley & Co. having a photo shoot she had done that she wanted to share, and Steph of Bubble Rock figuring what better way to share it with everyone? I couldn't agree more and am thrilled to be apart of today!

You know the scene during the opening credits of Father of the Bride? Those magical few moments when the camera focuses on the remnants of one amazing party - the glasses of half-drunk champagne, the confetti bits everywhere, pieces of cake and frosting clinging to gold forks. That's probably my favorite scene in the movie. Today's post has the same feeling. It's all about the end of the evening, after the "last glass of champagne has been drunk", when what's left is the 'Elegant Decay' of the party. The gorgeous setting of this shoot is very fall with rich, warm reds, wines and pinks with cool Navy and bright blues.

From Valley & Co: "We're Aleah + Nick Valley of Valley & Co. and we're so excited to partner with some of our most favorite blogosphere friends for this Blog Around the World: Elegant Decay post! Today you're invited to a worldwide scavenger hunt on these awesome blogs where you'll find snippets of our Elegant Decay photo shoot, designed to show off the after effects of a celebration: fun! We all spend so long putting together amazing designs and table scapes for our couples, and this shows off the end result {and the most important element}: enjoyment. We hope you enjoy this - thank you to all of our friends for participating and be sure to visit these other fabulous blogs for more photos, ideas, tips, and fun!"

I just loved this shoot! The sugared fruit and desserts looked divine (very Marie Antoinette, no?) and I love the gold rimmed china and hint of crystal hanging - very decadent (and even more Marie Antoinette)!
See visual aid below.
Sigh. Love the decadence and the Elegant Decay of a fabulous party.
