Inspiration Board: For Like Ever

Such a perfect theme for a wedding - "For Like Ever". That's how love should be. The poster sets the tone for the day - bright, giddy colors reflecting the range of wonderful emotions that love and weddings bring up. Vintage touches mixed with modern flair give this event a quality that shows that your love really will last "For Like Ever".

Inspiration Board: Golden Love

inspiration board
I made it on to the front page of Style Me Pretty with this board! Abby of SMP used it as a visual for their new weekend inspiration board challenge - create an inspiration board based on a style you'd like to see translated into an invitation design. The winner will have their design made into an actual invitation by Sarah Drake. Abby used mine as an example and called me fabulous. It was a good day!

Bridesmaids on a Budget

J.Crew is a great resource for dresses for the bride, bridesmaids, flower girls, and MOB. I saw this amazingly smokin' deal today on a fabulous bridesmaids dress that is too good to pass up. $59 for a dress thats regularly $215 is a bargain that your maids will thank you for!
Bride Style: White Shoes
So colored shoes for brides have been all the rage - and rightly so - but I am declaring that white shoes may be making a comeback. A classic never dies. Look at these beauties and you may be convinced. Still need a good reason to love these adorable white shoes? How about the $34 price tag? :)

Real Wedding: Becky and Tyler
Labels:
real wedding
It's been way too long since I've shared a real wedding, truth be told I haven't seen any in a while that really spoke to me or seemed worthy of the two + hours or so it usually takes me to find a real wedding, write about it and post it. So when I saw this wedding featured on Grey Likes Weddings that was photographed by Trever Hoehne, I got excited. I'm in to unique weddings that are also budget weddings that also look amazing. This wedding was all of those rolled into one. Becky and Tyler were married this past August in Newport Beach with a fun park reception at Heritage Park in Fountain Valley, California. It was literally an entirely handmade wedding - Becky, the bride, made her own gorgeous dress and veil (wow), the bride's mother sewed over 150 yards of triangle flags for decor which the groomsmen hung throughout the park, in the gazebo and over the dance floor, the bride's brother Brian built a "lemonade stand" for refreshments, her brothers DJ'd, and the bride and bridesmaids made all the bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages the night before the wedding.

The couple had lawn games like croquet, bocce ball, badmitton and lawn bowling set up for everyone to enjoy.

DIY: Flag Wands
Labels:
DIY
I love this idea! As an alternative to tossing confetti or rice, wave handmade flag wands. Take various types and colors of fabric, cut into triangles, and using fabric glue adhere to dowels. Viola! Something cute and unique for your guests to wave, giving you a fabulous send off!
