Marry You Me turns 2 today, and to celebrate I'm offering a fabulous giveaway! I'm giving one reader a copy of the new book How I Planned Your Wedding AND a $50 Sephora Gift Card!
How I Planned Your Wedding is the 'All-True Story of a Mother and Daughter Surviving the Happiest Day of Their Lives'. I was instantly attracted to the book because of this subtitle. My mom and I planned my wedding together, and there were definitely high and low points. High? When she decorated everything perfectly the day before and the day of the wedding along with my aunt. Low? When she told me that we didn't need hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour or that she thought having the groom and groomsmen wear light colored suits would look "stupid" - (she doesn't hesitate to admit she was wrong on both counts though, and we love to laugh about it now!)
#1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Wiggs and her daughter collaborate on a funny, charming, and poignant book about the trials and tribulations of planning the daughter’s wedding together. Combining the narrative talents of two gifted writers with invaluable practical advice, this book is both an entertaining read and a must-have resource for any mother or daughter in the throes of wedding planning.
This book is a charming mix of non sugar-coated true stories of the wedding planning process, along with real world practical advice from a mom and daughter who have been there together and survived! I highly recommend it for anyone who is currently planning, will be planning, or has planned a wedding with their mom. And have your mom read it when you're done! I'm sure she'll laugh (or cry) just as much as you did.

Well today is the anniversary of when my Mr. proposed. So sadly, I don't need the book but happily I do need the book b/c my friends are getting popped the question left and right and what a fun gift for them!
ReplyDelete1) I was actually about to go buy that book this upcoming month to give to my mom (winning it would be even more awesome)
ReplyDelete2) I've given up my sephora runs, with a lot of other things to save up for the wedding. A gift card would be fabulous! (plus I'd love to do a little shopping their for my bridesmaids)

Love your blog and I would love this giveaway! I have a couple friends getting married and I'm sure they would love for us all to share the book! And well I just love make up :)) happy bloggerversary!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the anniversary!!! Your blog is beautiful, and your tweets get me through the day :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a giveaway, hope I win!!!
Congrats my darling on your anniversary!! Your inspiration is truly stunning!
ReplyDeleteI would absolutely LOVE that book as I am in the midst of planning my wedding with my mother :)
Have a fabulous day!
xx,
dCc
I would really love to read that book, I've been having some discussions with my mother regarding my wedding and it would be great to read about someone who has been through similar situations! Thanx for the giveaway, it's really great!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, it's been such a roller coaster ride with my mom. At the beginning of the planning process we had so many arguments but we've finally managed to (mostly) find a happy balance in planning my wedding. Still, it would be wonderful to win this book and read about someone else going through the same thing. Hopefully, it would give me (and my mom) some more ideas about how to peacefully plan a wedding and still have fun too. And what girl doesn't want a gift card to buy makeup? Hope I win! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog Annie! Keep it up :)
ReplyDeleteHappy blogiversary! I love reading your blog! I've been dating my beau for 5 years. I know it's going to be a roller coaster ride planning a wedding because his family and my family live in different states separated by ocean, making things difficult to plan.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the book would help tremendously because while I was away at college most of my girls got married so I couldn't help them with their weddings to get an idea of what I would or would not want to do with my own. Plus, it would be nice for my Mom and I to both read the book before and during planning so that, in a perfect planning world, we keep it fun! A wise book, with wise advice would help a lot because I have no idea even where I would start!
And when it comes to makeup, I'm basically just as clueless. I don't know how I have gone my whole life without someone showing me how to properly do my makeup.
Keep up the blog girl! It's great!
I would love to win this book! My Mom and I are currently planning my wedding and so far things are going well but I'm sure we would both enjoy reading this book. Especially because my Mom is a huge reader anyway. I have plenty of friends that are engaged that I can share it with as well. How fun!
ReplyDeleteHappy blog birthday, Annie!! 2 years, way to go! I don't need the book myself, but I have several friends I could totally give it to! It looks like a fun read.
ReplyDeleteI totally would love to win this prize!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, this is just a great give-away. I have been following this blog since just before I first got engaged, and I'm happily married now. I have a sister getting married this year, however, so I've kept reading this blog regularly for more inspiration in helping her out. You share so many beautiful images and ideas!
ReplyDeleteI'd love it if I won the Sephora give-away, but otherwise, the book would be wonderful to give to my sister.
What a fabulous giveaway! I plan to have my mom help me plan my wedding so the book would be a great way to prep for that process. And my mom and I both shop at Sephora a bit more often than we should so we would put that giftcard to great use! :)
ReplyDeletethis would be so helpful!! we can't hire anyone to help and are doing it ourselves, so this would be great! thank you!

I would love to win this book, as I just got engaged at the beginning of the month and am trying to begin navigating this crazy thing called wedding planning. I am the oldest daughter and my mother and I are both pretty clueless as to how to get started. Also, we live across the country from each other and I know she is struggling with how to be involved.
ReplyDeleteThe Sephora gift-card would be an added bonus, but I would really love the book! Enjoying the blog so far, and hope to return to it many more times throughout the planning process! Happy Anniversary and Good Luck!
Congratulations on your anniversary-it's such a fabulous blog and you should be so proud of it :)
ReplyDeleteI have and always will love weddings. Something so magical about them and would love to read this! And the Sephora gift card, well who doesn't love getting new makeup!?
Happy anniversary and thank you for your blog--it is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI found this book and was going to order for my mom and myself to read. No fancy wedding coordinators or event planners for us--Mom is THE planner! She is well-appointed to do the job, think she's Martha Stewart, and keeps referring to the wedding as 'our wedding' (umm, Mom, what about the fiance? ha) Needless to say, this would give us a good laugh!!
The Sephora gift card would be fabulous, as I am a makeup maven and literally misted up when I entered Sephora for the first time (hey, at 16, it was a beautiful thing--still is at 28!)
Thanks again for your blog :)
Horray on the big anniversary-how wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAs for this book, I think I may need it-John and I aren't even engaged, but everything I suggest to my mother is absolutely not flying with her!
I would really love to win this! I am planning my own wedding and I can use all the help I can get!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the blogversiary!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this book! My sister is getting married and my mom is the planner, which means, I (the older yet to be hitched sister) am also the planner. It's both fun and trying (I still have no idea how we got into a fight about a made up guest list for my make believe wedding, but it happened.) and all of the conversations are helping me form idea for my nuptials!
Plus, the three of us are working together to create this awesome event for my sister, who deserves the best version of her wedding possible. Any guidance/advice is would be super appreciated!
Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this book for my best friend, Courtney! She is getting married in June and I know she would love to read this book. I wouldn't mind keeping the Sephora gift card:)

I would love to win this to remember what it was like planning a wedding with my mom. I remember my mom thought it was a good idea that I sleep at my parents house an hour away from the church. I could drive an hour in my wedding down...um, wrinkles? However, I will give it to a close friend who is getting married on 10/8/11 of this year. I will split the sephora card with her too. topgun34er(at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteA new book and new makeup?!? How fun!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blog anniversary! What a truly special giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHappy blogiversary !
ReplyDeleteI'd love to read that book, since I am currently planning my own wedding... and though I'm french speaking, I love a good book in english!

Congratulations on your blogiversary! I have read everyone of your posts and check back every day for the new ones.. Thank you for such an inspiring blog!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this giveaway! My best friend is getting married this summer and she would love this book. Also, Sephora is such a great store, you could go crazy in there buying presents for your bridesmaids or makeup for wedding day!
I would love to win this book because I need some mother daughter inspiration.
ReplyDeleteMy mum and I have always tried to be best friends, but we have never quite gotten there...I think organising the wedding is the perfect time to bring us closer together...I want to experience those beautiful mother daughter moments... I'm just a little hesitant to let her in, but I know that she wants it so badly and in my heart and I do to! Chloe.magnusssen@gmail.com
Happy Blogiversary Annie!!! Here's too many more ;-))) While I would love the book...please don't count me in on the drawing, as I think a new bride that really wants it should get it!!! However...the $50 Sephora gift card is reeealllyyyy hard to pass up! Congrats!

Eek! I would love this! I heard about this book a few weeks ago and would love to check it out. Of course, no one would pass up a gift card to Sephora, either!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosssh! My mom and I are in the midst of wedding planning (253 days to go!) - this would be such a perfect treat!
ReplyDeleteThe book sounds adorable! Happy 2 years to you and here's to many more years of fabulous wedding goodness!
ReplyDeleteoooh id love this :)
ReplyDeleteIt would be awesome to win the book and Sephora card. My daughter and I are planning her wedding right now! Crossing my fingers
ReplyDeleteYay, I'd love to win :) This book looks adorable, I would love to read it with my mom as we plan my wedding for this fall. I am so, so lucky that my mom is one of my best friends and it is so exciting and special to share this time with her. All the best :)
ReplyDeleteReally nice giveaway! Oh, well, I'd love to win this because although I am married already, I haven't gotten married in church yet, and this will happen next year! So the big planning phase is still going to come, and planning with my mum together (as well as with my sister and my husband of course!) is THE event - we do have similar tastes, but I guess it is just like with your mum ;-) It's maybe the age difference :D So I'd loooove to read this! I cannot wait to start the big planning phase again... loveliest feeling... the wedding day passes way too fast!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful giveaway.....!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win this book for my sister as I really think that this will be her year (this book will come in very handy), and of course I am entering because who doesn't love Sephora!
I am 9 months away from my wedding and have definitely had some of those silly argumetns with my mom! Also, my cousin just got engaged on Valentine's Day and my uncle already called my mom to talk about the things she wants that he doesn't "get!" This book could come in handy for both of us!
ReplyDeleteI am getting married in just 4 short months and still have so much to do. I am, sadly, running VERY far behind, but I do luckily have the help of both my real mom and step-mom :) And this giveaway would surely put me and the moms on the right track! :D
ReplyDeleteas someone who's said, "Mother!" a few times, to find a funny, charming account BEFORE starting to plan will be welcome, and who couldn't use some mother daughter bonding time at Sephora? a little bit of everything for everybody!
ReplyDeletecongratulations on your 2nd fabulous year as one of the top blogs I read (and facebook posts) every day! here's to 200 more!
I am obsessed with Sephora!! I also love to read :0)My mom was definately there for me when I needed her during the planning process even though she was living in a different state. Congrats on 2 years!! I love looking at everything you do :0)
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogisveray!! I would love to win this as I live in the middle of nowhere! An hour and a half drive to go grocery shopping excites me more then you know. So to win a gift like this would be out of this world!!
ReplyDeleteMy mom is flying me out in April for a visit and this would be something beautiful to share.
ps I am getting married in 6 months :)
Thanks!!! xo
Ah! I want to win this giveaway so badly! My makeup is badly in need of a boost for the wedding, plus I love a good read!
