Real Wedding: Christine and Scott in Sonoma

This beautiful Sonoma vineyard wedding was sent to me today by the oh-so talented Nancy from Nancy Liu Chin Designs in San Francisco, who specializes in "exceptional flowers and exceptional event design". All of the wonderful photography was done by Bay Area based photographer Ken Buck.

From Nancy: "This beautiful, preppy chic wedding took place last summer at B.R. Cohn Winery in Sonoma. Our lovely couple Christine and Scott wanted a very relaxed, upbeat, fun wedding that was cheerful, classic, and memorable."

"I first met Christine and Scott through their wonderful and talented wedding coordinator, Rebecca Feeney of Custom Event Group. I'll never forget meeting Christine and her mom. They came to see me in my Potrero Hill studio with such enthusiasm. Christine's mom has a great eye for color and instantly fell in love with the bright Cymbidium green orchids. Through our meeting, we knew we wanted the decor of the wedding to be a reflection of Christine's classic, American preppy chic style. We settled on shades of pinks, deep pinks, and hot pinks with splashes of bright preppy greens of the wedding colors."

I love this kermit green ring pillow!
For a splash of bright color, "the bridesmaids wore vibrant hot pink afternoon designer dresses."
"Christina's bouquet was simple yet feminine featuring delicate tulips, imported roses, mini callas and sweet peas all hand tied and wrapped with ribbon."
Keeping with the preppy look, all the groomsmen wore light pink ties, and "dainty bright green Dendrobium orchid boutonnieres."

"One of the things I remember most about this wedding was that we didn't want everything to be the standard Sonoma wedding with details like grapes. The ceremony was held on a hill surrounded with very tall oak trees. As a designer, I knew there was no way I could compete with the tall trees so instead of trying to compete, we decided to do a tablescape for their wedding instead of the standard large arrangements. We also hung green kissingballs, which was a favorite detail of mine."

"A beautiful table was placed as a "mock" altar of sorts. Christine's mom hand stitched chocolate silk runners for all the guest tables and the ceremony focal table. We placed tall cylinders with submerged green orchids with smaller arrangements in pinks. What I loved about the table was that it was impactful but also practical. We reused the ceremony pieces for the head table."

On to the reception!
"For the escort card table, Rebecca tied together wine corks with ribbon. She placed beautiful cards in between the corks and lined them up for guests! I love this twist on the standard escort card table."

"For the head table, she used place cards tied to wide Midori ribbon as a decorative piece on the backs of chairs. I love how it's functional and beautiful."
The ceremony pieces doubled as centerpieces for the head table.

Cigar bar for all the men - such a great touch to let the boys be boys and celebrate a wedding "guy style".

"Guests dined on wonderful food and adorable cupcakes! As the night progressed, the guests grabbed their favorite treats from the candy bar. It was a sweet night!!!"

What an amazingly beautiful wedding! Thank you again to the fabulous Nancy of Nancy Liu Designs for sharing it with Marry You Me!
